Re: GPLRACER 2025 wishes, proposals, ideas
Hello my friend Stefan!!!
It's a pleasure to be able to give some suggestions to GPLRacer.
Firstly, I would like to say that I cannot run during the week because the work schedule in Brazil makes any chance of participating impossible.
But I would really like GPLracer to bring back a schedule on Sundays, perhaps interspersing it with Planet GPL to give other drivers more chances to participate. I would like a championship with 2.5l mod66 or 2.5l mod67x cars, for "thematic" championships, a good example would be a tournament on socialist tracks, something like the old "The Friendship of Socialist Countries Cup" or "Les Leston Championship" and even "Taça Brasil de Automobilismo" (modSC 2L and GT40MKI)

Re: GPLRACER 2025 wishes, proposals, ideas
I also have a suggestion, too
Parallel to the 65, which is certainly set for 2025.
The 66 Formula 1 with tracks of different character. Short, long, tight corners or wide ones. Short and long straights. But no tracks that are difficult to learn.
Why? Here you go:
Specifically rules as an example for discussion:
Points are awarded for all and for individual ranks:
1. 30
2. 27
3. 24
4. 22
5. 20
6. 18
7. 16
8. 14
9. 12
10. 10
11. 9
12. 8
13. 7
14. 6
15. 5
16. 4
17. 3
18. 2
19. 1
That's not necessarily anything new. It's coming now:
It is awarded from bottom to top depending on the starting field. The points are counted at the start of the race. For example, if 10 people start, the winner gets a maximum of 10 points, the last 1. If 13 start, the winner gets 16 points. The last one gets 1 point.
However, points are only awarded for finishes.
In order to get the slower chassis into the race, there is also a multiplier for the points between 1 and 2, depending on power, weight and cubic capacity, so that the weakest chassis gets twice as many points as the best.
I know, quite complicated, but also interesting to polish up a simple points system that favours only a few vehicle types.
The 66 have many wonderfully created race cars that are unfortunately never properly recognised!!!
Please let me know your opinions
P.S. How here to insert a local Picture?

Re: GPLRACER 2025 wishes, proposals, ideas
Mods
1965 F1 as per usual
Additional mods: SC71 (what's the status?), Formula 2, 1955 F1
Tracks
I like seeing more theme in championships. Other than that, tracks are fine.
I want Brno 1937 somewhere in it
Nothing else to add beyond this.

Re: GPLRACER 2025 wishes, proposals, ideas
!965 through the year is a given for me. Maybe taking a little more care over track selection so that lapping of slower drivers (me!) doesn't happen too early in the race. Some of the shorter circuits have been fun but lapping always seems to upset someone (either laper or lapee)
I quite fancy another 66 season. We could use new track pack circuits again for this where appropriate (IMHO it doesn't hurt racing on more familiar circuits rather than every circuit being new to recent returners (again me!)). We could also limit some races to 2.5ltr cars only to force some variety. Over the summer fun races Paul tried some different point allocations and also had reverse grid races which all added to novelty (maybe a step too far?).
I have never had the chance to race a full season of F2 cars but have enjoyed them in individual races so that would be fun.

Re: GPLRACER 2025 wishes, proposals, ideas
For me, 20 races 1965 are good, maybe with some original or Rank tracks.
For the championship, 10 races
The idea of inverting the grid is great, maybe using all simple cars, like Alfa or Porsche or others, we could have fun...
Thanks to the organizers

Tracks:
--------
Mix of tracks short/long, they don't have to be new tracks. Be carefull not too many short tracks <60sec because the backmarkers only see blue flags for 70% of the race and that is no FUN.
Mod:
-----
20 races 65mod on Tuesday even weeks, don't have time for the other mods
Rules:
------
No change of the rules
Race distance:
-----------------
45 min for the average driver
Race mode:
-------------
Pro ( No Shift-R)
Greetings, Marcel

Re: GPLRACER 2025 wishes, proposals, ideas
It is important that the different GPL leagues are planned respecting the existing ones ... that's why from PDLR we want to share our idea of 2025
Our calendar has been recently moved from Monday (training) and Tuesday (race) to Sunday (training) and Monday (race) in order not to coincide the race days on Tuesday with GPLRacer and to facilitate the participation in both if desired.
We have already been holding since 2018 a good mod 55 schedule during the first half of the year and our idea is to keep it for 2025
After the summer break we are now celebrating a 66 calendar ... and we plan to make a similar calendar with the mod that is not selected here at GPLRacer.
So in the case that GPLRacer plans 66 we can do for example 67F2 or 69x.
The idea is to complement each other , so any suggestion will be welcome
Greetings to all

Re: GPLRACER 2025 wishes, proposals, ideas
Whatever is decided in mode and track will suit me...
I've just got a small idea: would it be possible to do as UKGPL does, so that drivers who retire after 75% of the race are ranked and score points...?
