My strategy for this, the final race of the year, was to just stay under the radar and finish, so I was surprised and happy to qual 4th. I inherited 3rd after Claudio’s withdrawal and stayed there, watching Dimi & Eduardo head off into the sunset while Alex kept advancing. A good finish after a couple equipment problems and bad (like, really bad) weather kept me out of several races in the 2nd half.
Thanks to my un-teammates this season for their support, feedback and senses of humor. You guys are great!

Re: R16 Mexico - Season Finale
broken engine!
I had a lot of fun this year with you all.
The season was rich and full, can't wait for the next one, I'll try to be more consistent.
Well done Eduardo with the lotus, nothing to be done against you!
Well done Dimi, you're going to have fun next year in D1.
Well done Colin, great 2nd place (watch out for my revenge next year!)
Well done Ruy, great progress
Well done Caudio, Richard and all the others, you are all my friends.
I take this opportunity to thank Robert, for allowing me to replace Lasse,
which allowed me to scare Colin with the Ferrari!
A big thank you from the bottom of my heart, to Michael, for all his work done so that oao continues. Thank you Michael and well done to you.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I streamed the race as well. Check out here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2291792609snafu wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 8:23 pm Having watched the race stream from Richard's channel I had to go and download the replay just to see if Eduardo's battle with Dimi was as exciting as it looked from Richard's Pribluda.
What a great race you both had, hats off to the pair of you. Based on today's performance neither of you will embarrass yourselves making the step up, so I'll be the 1st to welcome both of you to the bear pit which is D1.
Finally a big shout out to team mate Peter Lohmar who grabbed the final podium spot in his Brabham. Faster cars out there but as usual he shows what a consistent drive is worth in the standings.

I praise not only the incredibly remarkable driving that you have been demonstrating as your effort to improve it, but especially your words in this text and what inspired you to write them.Pepe_Higdon wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 7:58 pm I've really worked hard this year because I don't know how many more of these years I'm going to have. [...] It has been an unforgettable experience, one that I'll treasure even after my days at the wheel and pedals have faded from memory.
I must say that, although I know little or nothing about the truth of your life, if from now on you really do not become for me anything other than this foreign name with a particular temperament on an international forum who (whenever you wants) knows how to write some of the most interesting texts in English I've ever read, or if you really won't be for me anything more than this virtual car next to which I occasionally line up mine on an online race track, you certainly already are for me (as I believe you certainly are for those present here) a very valuable presence. I say this for myself, given how much you – by a simple lap time or the speed you reached at the end of a straight or at the apex of a curve –always bring to the track or the race a parameter that I consider and respect; I regulate a lot of my doings on the racetrack based on the references you bring when you enter the scene, both in search of speed and good behavior – it may be little for you but it's not for me – and I also always try to write a good text as yours in the forum.
And it doesn't cost me (much) to say that you also help me, with your aforementioned peculiar temperament, to think and say better what I know and what I feel. And for me, this isn't just about participating in a league around a racing simulator; this is for life as it is.
Because of how human this is, enriching even in its smallness the ephemerality of our pilgrimage on this earth, I want to pay homage here to your presence in our lives, Mr. Pepe Higdon, which although it is a small presence is not few – on the contrary, it is important.
And I hope, with all my heart, that we can still enjoy the glow of your presence for a long time.
Cheers.

As I told you before, I come here to repeat:dulima wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 8:11 pm Unfortunately my help was a little late, I'm glad it helped
Ruy, this has been a learning season, this has been a learning year for you, in all the leagues you're competing in, your consistency is increasing with each race, your hunger for GPL is obvious, I'm sure that next season you'll come out with everything
I think the most brilliant part of this fantastic software called Grand Prix Legends is the gathering of people engaged in a very particular and exclusive passion, based on a fascinating part of the history of the sport and which has been able to bring together for at least a quarter of a century (and I hope that it will continue to bring together for much longer) these special, differentiated people, with a lively enthusiasm and a real desire to overcome their individual limits, seeking to improve themselves.
GPL never will be just a game.
But my enthusiasm for this software brought me to an even more exciting, I would even say magical, region... It's a place where I found the brilliant joy of basking in the sunshine of your friendship, my dear Eduardo Lima.
It's so good to discover you in this world and it's so good to know that the few kilometers that separate the cities where we live are, if not easily walkable, at least brief enough for us to share a family breakfast on a Sunday.
My family just loved to know you!
This was the greatest satisfaction that the GPL gave me, a reward infinitely beyond the pleasure of learning to drive and improving over time, incomparably greater than being able to finish well in races or achieve podium finishes.
All the more valuable is the GPL for me, the means by which I came to know an incredible person like you and the bridge that united and strengthened our friendship.
LONG LIVE TO GPL.

Re: R16 Mexico - Season Finale
I was very sad to miss the final of this season. Already had some health issues during the last time which got worse. Luckily I found out about the reason: Doc says I was bitten by a tick. What a joke... As my season was already not very successfull to say the least it was a deserved final for me. Sorry team. They gave me my dream car and I failed...
Thanks to everybody for your thoughts and comments. Now I am looking forward for the next season. I really can't wait. You all inspired me

Tick bites are really serious. Glad they diagnosed it and treated you for it.
Get well soon and get back in driver's seat!

Thank you very much Michael! I will be back as soon as possible and hopefully better
Untill I will enjoy watching the streams from Singion and Dimi while enjoying some appropriate chocolate my wife bought me from her recent trip to Monaco
And once again I am very gratefull for everything you do for all of us here at oAo. You had some rough times yourself recently and I hope you can charge up your batteries in the upcoming time. Honestly, you deserve the choclate... Take care!

Re: R16 Mexico - Season Finale
I thank you for your kind words, Ruy, especially in light of the incessant hammering I've given you earlier this season for what I considered your hyper-aggressive driving habits. But it's clear that in recent months you've moved from an unconscious and inconsiderate racer into a thinking, more careful driver. Your second-place finish with a slower car at the very difficult Clermont-Ferrand track in a UKGPL race a few weeks ago and your bringing home a wounded Cooper to a good finish in Mexico the other day showed us that.
This kind of progress, I might add, hasn't gone unnoticed. Yesterday (Sunday) I had the pleasure of having lunch with Commissioner Lowery at his home on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. What I thought would be a 90-minute visit turned into three hours, but at least we managed to solve a significant number of the world's problems. Along the way we also agreed that you and Sergio were the most improved drivers in oAo since the summer break. That's not too surprising. All you guys from Brazil and Italy look like Senna and Ascari to the rest of us.
